People of the Parishes

Share your stories about people from our local parishes who served during D-Day in 1944

As we mark the 80th celebrations of D-Day on 6th June 2024

We would like to commission a booklet to celebrate the courageous efforts by people from our parishes who served during this conflict.

The Parishes of Chetwynd, Chetwynd Aston & Woodcote, Church Aston, Lilleshall and Newport would like to invite you to submit short stories about these people to be included in this publication.

Please submit details of their service, including name, rank, years of service, place of Parish where they came from and if you had any photographs we would really appreciate them.

Once the publication is finalised, it will be available from the above listed Parishes and advertised when available.
